Unnatural Laws
1 - The silence after
Cloven hooves, grass, brown
deer—Gunshot. Gone. Hush. Something
evil happened here...
2 - Growing (Up)
I left and let the
grass grow. Oh how this grove is
no longer my home.
3 - Spread too thin
Turtle knows himself
a turtle. I know myself
a ring of ripples.
4 - Me after the storm
Lightning-struck giant
severed in two—one arm points
West. The other, East.
5 - My tracks on the game trail
Old fox was young once:
Remembers, the rocks were sharp
this side of the stream.
6 - 2:46 a.m.
I want to be so
badly a wolf whose howl
is—for once—answered.
